Mardi Gras in Montclair? Yes, we did!

On Saturday February 3rd, the Montclair Scholarship Fund hosted our first annual “Mardi-Gras Montclair” at 18 Label Street. What a fabulous space for a fabulous night of eating, dancing and, of course, raising money to support our 2018 Montclair college-bound seniors. The evening, chaired by Robin Schlager and Sharla Blanz, was a smashing success, with delicious Cajun food and specialty drinks, topped off by King Cake and a gourmet coffee truck outside for all to enjoy.

The Eugene Chrysler Band played Rockabilly blues all night long that got everyone moving, while the inimitable Charles Rosen served as emcee during the “for a good cause” auction. Mayor Robert Jackson welcomed the near-capacity crowd, and reiterated the critical role of MSF in providing scholarships to college-bound Montclair High School students with financial need. It was an all-hands-on deck effort, with ample help from the Board, the Committee, and Montclair High School students who volunteered at the event.

The MSF Board thanks each and every one of you for your support. Whether you attended the event, bid on our silent auction items, volunteered your time, sponsored or donated items and services, you made a difference in the lives of our graduating seniors. With your help, we were able to give 52 scholarships to college-bound MHS class of 2018 students. Our first ever Mardi Gras was a smashing success, raising over nearly $52k. We are so grateful that you were able to be a part of it!

We look forward to seeing you at next year's Mardi Gras Montclair!
